Peaches was the runt of Roxy’s litter and she looks nothing like her two siblings. She has a different coat which led me to research if it was possible she could have a different dad. Lo and behold I found out that a female dog could be pregnant concurrently from different dads and as I said on a previous post she was often wandering the neighborhood, so who knows. I kind of see Chow chow, but what do ya’ll think?
Peaches was always fighting to get food from the beginning with her mom’s milk, so this had made her feisty and even though the two males are stronger and bigger than her they don’t try to steal her food. They know she will not hesitate to fight back. She’s a feisty little one.
If it rains outside or there any water puddling anywhere on the property she will find it then coat her fur in dirt, kind of like a shake and bake, so she gets lots of water baths before she gets to come inside. She loves the hose and leaf blower. She will put her face in direct contact with the hose, so we cannot wash down the yard with her anywhere near. She’s just plain silly.
She does have a couple weird quirks like although she’s 50+ pounds she flattens her body down to sleep under our bed, so we laughingly call that turtling. They slept under the bed when they were babies to feel safe and she never stopped. Because she rather enjoys being dirty she hates being groomed. She acts like I’m trying to kill her. She also has zero sense of personal space so she will step directly on your faces when you’re sleeping.
Peaches although small has also learned how to counter surf from her sister Bella. Just this week she took a bite out of a pumpkin Bundt cake I had cooling on the stove. She would’ve devoured it if I hadn’t caught her. She also gets on Buck and Rambo’s face and wrestles with them but they seem to understand she doesn’t understand the pack pecking order or maybe she’s inserting herself into the number three position, or at least trying to.
In a nutshell Peaches is kind of special and we love her all the more because of it.
